I've taken many pre-workout supps over the last few years: Jack3d,

Vapor etc...
Here's how I'd rank this product;
Taste 9/10:
This is the best tasting pre-workout I've taken by a long shot. It's a
little sweet if you don't mix it with enough water, but other than that
it's not hard to drink at all. (I've only tried the Blue Artic Raspberry
and it does turn your tongue blue...)
Mixability 9/10: No
problems mixing this. Gave it a few shakes and one nice thing is that it
doesn't pop your shaker bottle open and splatter which some other's do.
Pumps
6/10: Sort of disappointing here because I didn't get that huge pump
that I'm used to and even when taking a full scoop it really didn't do
much. I know that the pump isn't the most important thing, but it's a
good feeling and sort of important to me.
Energy 8/10: This supp
gave me a nice smooth energy that lasted well beyond my workouts, in
fact I felt really good afterwards almost euphoric. This might not be
what some people are used to if you like Jack3d which is a strong
stimulant based supp. So if you like that strong rush of energy, maybe
this won't be enough to satisfy.

I was skeptical to try this pre-workout supplement not only because it is a new product but because it is very inexpensive.

PRO'S: Intense energy! Better than Jack3D, Assault, and N.O. Explode! This product gives me an intense focus and makes me lift heavy and strong in the gym! Also this supplement is excellent when it comes to cardio! I just ran 4 miles last week and I still had energy to spare.
Another pro is the nutrition label. Muscletech discloses everything that is in this product so you know that you aren't consuming artificial sweeteners or anything that will hurt your body. USP Labs was just sued for their product (Jack3D) because of the ingredient 1-3 dimethylamylamine, which has been shown to contribute to heart attacks and makes you very tired after a workout. They were sued because two soldiers died of heart attacks while taking Jack3D and officials speculated that 1-3 dimethylamylamine contribued to the death of these soldiers. It's important as a consumer to know what you are putting in your body. Fortunately Neurocore doesn't contain 1-3 dimethylamylamine, so you know this supplement will be healthier for your body.
CON'S:
The taste of Neurocore is HORRIBLE. This stuff tastes like a cough drop laced with bleach!
However, I don't know any athlete who takes a supplement for the taste! I tried Muscle Pharm's Assault and that tastes AMAZING, but it didn't give me a pump. I felt like I was spending $40 dollars on cool-aid!
I gave Neurocore a 4/5 because this supplement works better than other products that I have tried, it's just that the taste is horrible which is a deterrent.

One of the issues I had with this product was the "appetite control" part. Most of the time I would be hungry, yet I wouldn't feel like eating(after taking the pills in the morning). Good thing right? Wrong! This was bad because after an hour, that hunger would strike, and I would always be at work. I did take snacks and stuff, but the problem was that it made me lose my appetite, though I still felt hungry. In other words, I would be hungry, but couldn't eat anything because my body wouldn't let me(mouth wouldn't let me swallow, made food feel "nasty").
There was no "energy boost" either, but that's because my body is very stim resistant.
One more thing, I do not recommend this to runners, or suggest anyone work out intensely immediately after consuming this product. On more than one occasion, especially when I ran, I felt like a heart attack or something was about to happen. I listened to my body and stopped, and eventually it went away.
It did help me lose weight, and did help me with portion control as I got fuller quicker. The first few days I had to urinate a lot, but eventually it happened less frequent. Great product, a few ups and downs, but overall 4 out of 5 for me.

I agree with the other reviews that Muscle Milk does contain more sugar and fat than most other protein supplements, but you're talking about 6 grams of fat per serving, and just two grams of sugar. Not that much. If you're on a super strict diet, then fair enough but if you're using this as a meal replacement or a post-workout recovery drink I think it fits the bill perfectly. I also like how it has glutamine already in the mix, not very much so I still supplement it separately as well but still a nice touch have an amino acid like that in a protein shake.
The only other amino acid I think is worth taking is beta alanine, Beta Alanine Bulk Powder 100 Grams. This one actually increases the ability to signal muscle cells and releases growth hormone, also increases the metabolism naturally. I don't believe in taking amino blends, but if they are included in the protein I am taking, I won't complain. I will however, still add the necessary components to build muscle and I have always preferred to go to the ones that have been proven to work.
So, if your looking for the best tasting protein (i.e. actually tastes like a chocolate milkshake), then you can do no better than Muscle Milk. One tip is to put some ice in the blender when mixing, makes it taste almost like a malt. And unless you're in a serious bulking phase, drinking this post-workout makes the most sense, since your body will suck up the extra sugar and fat that make this shake taste so good and use it for recovery.
